It’s a fabulous achievement to be selected to represent your country at an International Event.  Evie Patterson plays for the Wild Kats on Friday night, but she can also be found wearing the Gold & Green uniform of the Australian Pearls.  Last week Basketball Australia and Sport Inclusion Australia announced the 10 players selected to represent Australia at the INAS Global Games, this year to be held in Brisbane in October, and Evie is one of 5 women chosen from Victoria.  Evie is training very hard and you can often see her staying back on Friday nights to practice her shooting – she trains multiple times a week and is also keeping up her other activities, like swimming, cycling, skiing – and gym work (yes, she’s very fit).  Congratulations Evie – all the hard work has paid off, and we all send our best wishes to you for a fabulous campaign.

A few of our other basketball players have also been selected into other sports – congratulations to Molly Thatcher (cycling), (past player) Chloe Turner (Athletics & Cycling), Harry Mezger (Athletics), (past player) Annaliese Hodge (Cycling), Jamieson Whitely (Cycling), Carlo Manolitsis (Cycling).  And there’s sure to be a few more with several sports yet to name the final teams.  We wish all of these people the best luck in representing Australia.
